This weekend was beautiful. Well, one thirds of it. Friday was cold.
With the exception of Friday, we spent as much time outside as possible.
Oh and this week you’re in for a treat. I have three videos in this week’s review :)
Olivia woke me up at 6 am on Friday morning. I wasn’t having that so I took her from her crib, and we snuggled back to bed until 10:30…that’s more like it :)
We all got up, I changed her diaper, gave her some breakfast and then guess what I did next? I ran on the treadmill. Let it be known that I, capital H, HATE running. I have never liked it, and I probably never will. It’s so boring to me. I’m a biker, a walker, a swimmer, and an anything else-er that isn’t running. But, alas, I ran. And it actually felt good! I want to start doing some type of exercise every single day,…at least until my wedding ;) so I probably won’t run everyday, but every few days is okay for me!
Anyway, our little boyfriend, Odin came over in the afternoon. Olivia was still napping when he got here, so it was just him and I for a bit and we watched Blues Clues.
Olivia was so excited to see him when she got up. She says, “Ooooooooodin!” It’s so cute. They are definitely still learning the whole sharing thing (it has only been two weeks) but I already honestly see a bit of a difference. They played a little nicer, watched a movie, ate snacks and toward the end of the night, oh my goodness, they were so lovey. Odin kissed Olivia twice and you can tell she was in heaven because she tried it last week and he wasn’t having it. She loves to be loved, that girl.
I made In Honor Of Design‘s One Minute Frozen Yogurt, but the babies weren’t interested…..which was fine with me because I love this stuff. It’s SO good. I added just a little bit of low fat cool whip :)
Toward the end of the night, I brought the playpen out….I let them both play in it for a little while. Here are two ten second clips of them having the best time in that thing:
Their thing is to say ‘UP!’ and put their hands up in the air, and then, ‘DOWN!’ and slam their arms down. So adorable.
I put Odin in the playpen to go to sleep, brought Olivia up to sleep in her crib and his mama came to get him about an hour later. Since he was sleeping when she got here, we got to sit down and have a conversation over some coffee and it was nice because it’s usually just hi and bye!
Dominic got home a little later than usual, and we watched Lost. We are almost done with the series and it is just SO good. It’s a good thing I had both babies to distract me or I probably would’ve just watched ahead without him ;)
I woke up with the worst back pain ever! Seriously, I haven’t felt like that since I was pregnant with Miss O (no, that is not a hint. I am not, repeat, NOT, pregnant.) Anyway, we kinda lazed around, had cereal, and then got dressed and headed to the store to pick up some things for a BBQ we were hosting for a couple of Dominic’s friends that haven’t seen our place, or Us, in such a long time, and Dominic’s parents were there too.
We ate, laughed, reminesced. It was nice. I can tell that Dominic really enjoyed himself, which made me really happy.
After everyone left, we went to pick up my bike from my Grandma’s house (I’ll share that story on Wednesday!) and hung out there for a while.
Our plan was to go for a walk through our downtown area again, but because it got a little chillier, and Olivia was in a skirt, we found ourselves in Target instead.
No weekend is complete without a trip to Target.
Let me tell you a little story about my man friend/fiance, Dominic.
I love him to death, but man oh man, if he had to choose between getting a few hours of extra sleep in the morning, or waking up early, the man is gonna choose sleep. As one should. I mean, who wouldn’t love a few extra hours of sleep (especially if you have a baby who also wants to sleep-in)? I know this about him, his parents know this about him, hell, he even knows this about him.
But Mr. Man friend here always has these great intentions of getting up early. He says he wants to start his day early, which would be absolutely fine with me……if he actually woke up when his alarm went off. Instead, he sets his alarm (even on his days off) to sound at basically the crack of dawn, and then decides to press the snooze button at least ten times (making the alarm go off every ten minutes, ten times) before he actually says to himself, ‘You know, I think I actually am going to sleep a little longer, let’s just turn this alarm off for good.’
And what’s worse? Some days, he will sleep right through it!!! That alarm will go off for five minutes before I kick him to death making him shut it off.
Um. That is absolutely not okay. In fact, it is probably one of my biggest pet peeves, and the thing we argue about most. I know, a damn alarm clock. But come on! There are some days when Olivia comes in bed with us and then that damn noise that goes off for basically NO REASON AT ALL is pretty much begging Olivia to wake up early. And most of the time, once she’s up, oh, she’s up. Climbing all over you, banging on the door saying, “Down? Down? Dowwwwwwwwwn?” Poor girl just wants to go downstairs and play with her toys, which is also just fine, but at a reasonable freakin hour.
So, naturally, on Sunday, GOD’S DAY, if you will, his beautiful alarm clock goes off at 7am, and wakes Olivia up. I kick him to wake him up and I said, “You’re kidding me, right? It’s SUNDAY and you’ve just woke up our child from this damn noise. No. Not okay. YOU get up, and get her and go deal with her. I’M going back to sleep.”
And I did. Until 11:15.
I mean, can you really blame me for wanting to pretty much kill him every time his alarm clock goes off? No? Didn’t think so.
Waking up at 11:15, I was obviously refreshed, I went downstairs to Olivia squeezing me to death with her hugs (totes not complaining!) and everyone was just all around happier.
At least I was.
We got dressed and started the grill for another cookout. Dominic and I love to have cookouts. And bonfires. Love love love it. Anyway, his parents and one of their friends (who has a little baby boy) came over and we were outside playing in the grass and soaking up the beautiful day. We ate delicious food and just hung out and I just love that about the nice weather so much. I love to be outside, and I love that Olivia loves to be out there too. Except for the bugs that the nice weather brings. The bugs can stay hidden.
After everyone left, Olivia napped. I tried, but couldn’t, so I cleaned up instead. It was 5:15 and she was still sleeping so I had to wake her up, and then we went for a little walk. Out of nowhere, she stopped and sat so that she could watch the cars go by. Once I finally convinced her to keep moving, she still stopped every few seconds to smell, and pick flowers. I have a little flower child on my hands and I love it! She picked a few, and handed them to me, which basically made me melt into a little puddle of mush. I mean, obviously.
And of course I saved them.
And right before bath time, the Bubble Guppies came on, so we haddddddd to dance. These are her new moves:
And then two of my girlfriends came over with cans of something called “straw-ber-ita” to, you know, celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the classiest way possible. They weren’t as bad as I thought they were going to be, but I don’t know if I’d ever get them again….they tasted too carbonated. But they were alright for the price. I had half of my can and I was over it………#momprobz?
Once they left, we went upstairs where we hung out and talked about Life before Olivia knocked out from all that dancing.
How was your weekend?
