I have a few random things that I’d like to fill your brain with today.
First and foremost, yesterday was a dream. The kinda family day that mama was begging for. I felt like I was in some kind of movie because we were so happy, so…..back to normal. We went to visit my grandma, we got coffee, we walked around the mall, bought Olivia the cutest little pair of Minnie Mouse house slippers that I ever did see and, oh em gee, the best of all, I have been eyeing this swimsuit for Olivia from the Gap since I first saw it, but it was pretty pricey. Well, Dominic took Olivia for about 15 minutes to walk around while I browsed around Sephora and while I would love all of the lipstick in every single shade, we are on a very tight budget so looking was all I did. But then (!), right next door was a Baby Gap and I can never pass up a looksie in there, and of course I saw about a billion things that I wanted to buy. I walked away though (it’s all about self control, guys!). And as I was walking out the door, I saw this huge sign that said SALE! and then. I saw It. The swimsuit that I had been eyeing for like ever was staring at me right in the eye with a beautiful price tag that said $5.99. And if you’re still questioning “well did you buy it?” after all of that………..yes, of course I bought it. Um, hello, didn’t you hear me say $5.99?
We came home, made mini pesto pizzas (so. good.), and then played outside as the sun set. Olivia was in heaven, you could tell. And I’m not exaggerating either. The way that she kept looking at Dominic all day was something I won’t soon forget. She even went to him instead of me when she fell and hurt her hand…..and that never happens. I wasn’t kidding when I said she missed him!
And then after she went to sleep (does anyone else HATE putting their baby to bed after a fantastic day?!) Dominic and I decided to try out our new mini espresso machine. It’s fun, I must admit. We spent the remainder of the night googling “latte art” and although he doesn’t know it, I plan on figuring out how to do awesome latte art before he does. Although I kind of already have the upper hand with this whole stay at home mom gig ;)
I know it seems like a rather ordinary day, but for us, it was way more than that. Exactly what I said we needed and I think we both already feel so much better.
A friend of mine had a little IG challenge about a week ago, that I decided to participate in. I loved the idea behind it, and it was so fun to find some truly magical moments in our day to day routine. She picked 25 winners, and announced on Monday that I was one of those 25!
And even better than that?
Disney Baby chose Olivia’s picture to be featured as the main photo to promote the post on their Facebook page!! It was so crazy to see Olivia on my news feed like that, knowing that 1.7 million other people saw her cute little face too!
Also, Dominic and I FINALLY had our little Lost party. We finished the series and we’re both so depressed that it’s over. We really loved it, the story line was awesome, even though I picked it up rather quickly, and the series finale was so good. Of course I was crying my eyes out like a little baby, but that just means that I really enjoyed it…..obviously.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new Netflix show to consume their days with.
Oh and I’ve been reading through Erin’s blog lately, and I think you should too. She is SO funny. I wish we could be bffs.
Does anyone else think that Justin Timberlake has made one hell of a comeback?! I cannot stop listening to this song. And I love the video….which is saying something because I’m really not big on music videos.
One last thing. Today I was supposed to go with my friend Stef to a Zumba class, but my alarm never went off. It didn’t help that I was also up until 4am with Olivia. She’s got a pretty bad cough and was so miserable. It’s 10am and she’s still out cold. Poor girl. I have to believe it’s something to do with this weather…Monday it was 94, Tuesday and Wednesday it rained and right now….it’s only 48 degrees. I know, right?
So because we didn’t Zumba, I’m going to go run on the treadmill instead. Operation skinny mama/skinny bride is in full effect, people!
And that concludes my pointless post for the day.
Tomorrow’s Friday, yay!
