This past Sunday, we were thrown a Bridal Shower at a cute little Italian restaurant called Buca di Beppo. The shower was awesome. We were surround by the women in our life that matter the most, and we left feeling so loved, and so blessed.
I was really excited to get all dressed up and attend a party in our honor. I bought this royal blue dress from a store called Francescas, and I felt great in it. My hair was pulled into a fishtail, and my bangs were clipped back with the most beautiful bobby pins that I purchased at Forever 21. My shoes are Cosmopolitan for JCP, and of course I wore my O necklace from my sister, and a longer chained necklace from Forever 21 as well :)
Of course Dominic and I walked in about 15 minutes late…..I absolutely hate being late but it really just always happens when there’s somewhere that we absolutely NEED to be…..aka we’re probably going to be late to our own wedding.
Everyone was already there when we walked in, and we were greeted with beautiful, welcome, smiling faces :)
After we went around and said hi to everyone, we sat down at a head table with all of my bridesmaids, and then the food started to come out. The first course was salad, and since I don’t like salad (gasp!), I just sat and waited for the REAL food– The pasta! ;)
There were two kinds of pasta, regular old spaghetti and meatballs, and pesto! The pesto was SO good. And I have to imagine that the spaghetti and meatballs was good too because Olivia was literally shoving the noodles into her mouth, when she usually prefers to use utensils!
^Olivia eating her pasta with the biggest spoon ever. That didn’t last very long.^
And then the girls announced that we were going to be playing a game. Kind of like a take on the “Newlyweds” Game, but with a few differences. In the beginning of the shower, they took Dominic and asked him a set of ten questions, passed out the questions on sheets of paper for everyone else to answer, and then put me in a chair in the middle of the room, and I had to answer them and (hopefully!) get them right. Whoever answered the majority of the questions right, got a prize (Starbucks gift card and a cute travel mug!). The questions were SO funny, but kind of weird! I got 6 out of 10 right. We were all laughing so hard, it was such a good time!
After the game, we opened presents. We got so many nice gifts, we were so overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity.
A few other gifts we got: the magic bullet (which I’ve seriously wanted since it first came out!), dinnerware, glasses, a beautiful wooden clock, a retro straw dispenser, a toaster over, and so many more things!!
Actually, this is what our living room looks like right now:
That pile has been staring us in the face for the past two days…..We don’t even know where to begin!
And then we ate the most delicious cake, and everyone slowly started to leave, while we all packed up our car, and Dominic’s parent’s car, and headed home.
About an hour later, I met the girls for a quick drink, while Dominic and Olivia swam by his parent’s house. Once I drove back to their house, we just hung out, ate dinner, and re-capped our day.
It was such a perfect bridal shower and now we’re in full wedding mode. We have exactly 60 days and I feel like it’s going to go by so quickly!
Thanks for letting me share our bridal shower festivities with you all :)
