This weekend was my Bachelorette Party. I cannot believe that it has already come and gone, but it was a blast. I won’t say too much, but I will share a couple pictures (forewarning: there is a penis picture or two…..).
Let’s start with Friday. Friday we were able to spend the morning with my sister and our niece, Elianie. We went out for lunch, went last minute shopping at the mall and then Olivia and I came home, took a nap (almost 3 hours!), and then went back out with my friend Steph. We were doing some last minute party shopping!
Saturday morning I was up early, getting together the last of my things to put in an overnight bag, and then we were out the door at 10:15am. I stopped at Starbucks to get drinks for everyone (kind of like a small thank you for everything for the weekend!) and then Dominic, his dad, and Steph’s mom all drove us down to the city so that we didn’t have to spend millions of dollars on overnight parking.
And in return, I was given this:
When we arrived at the Hyatt Regency of Chicago, the girls rushed upstairs and me and Nancy (yes, my almost mother in law) had a drink at the bar while we waited for the OK to go upstairs.
If you’re wondering if it’s weird that Dominic’s mother came to my bachelorette party, the answer is Hell to the No. No, it was not weird at all. When we first started talking about party ideas (even though the girls were very discreet about it from day one!), I never imagined her not coming. The best part about Nancy is she is literally just like one of the girls, and such a good time to be around. And you know what? I even think it kinda would’ve been weird had she not been there. Her sister, Becky, was also though and she is also such a good time! I wouldn’t have had it any other way!
Now that we’ve cleared that up…..we’ll move on to what happened after we got the okay to come up!
This is what the door looked like:
and then the room:
It was hilarious and so fun and I won’t even lie, there was a lot of penis shaped stuff involved.
After we had a few drinks, and some food, we got ready and made our way to the beach.
We danced, we tanned, we laughed and then we came back to the hotel where our friend Stef (she couldn’t get the whole day off, so she had to come late!) was waiting with 3 boxes full of pizza, and a huge salad. One of the pizzas obviously looked like this:
And then we lounged around, took naps (or maybe I just did? I don’t know.) and then got ready for the night. The girls had these amazing shirts made that we all wore that night. They honestly could not have been more perfect.
I mean, come on. Disney writing?! I can’t take the perfection. My friend Maddie was in charge of that apparently, and she definitely outdid herself. Love. (mine is not pictured, and also in white!)
And then we hit up a few different night clubs that the lovely city of Chicago has to offer, where we drank and danced the night away. I haven’t danced like that in such a long time, my feet are actually still paying for it today but it was absolutely, without a doubt, SO worth it. I think we finally got back to the hotel around 3am.
^I am obsessed with their shirts! So funny!^
The best part about the entire party was spending quality time with my girls. Once you have a kid, sleepovers and the like are few and far between, so it was nice to go to sleep laughing, wake up at 9am, and kinda do whatever after that.
(I did miss my little baby so much though.)
My sister and I went downstairs to do a quick coffee run for everyone, and then we all packed up our bags, cleaned the hotel rooms and left everything with the bellhops.
We took a ten minute walk to this little place called West Egg. The set-up was a little weird, and the server was a little rude, but the food was alright, so there’s that. I got chorizo, eggs and cheese, wrapped in a flour tortilla, with a side of potatoes so I was definitely a happy camper. If you’ve never had that combo, I suggest you go do so right now!
We walked around the city a little bit, and then came back to the hotel to retrieve our bags, have one more round of drinks at the hotel bar and then Dominic and his dad (and Olivia!) came to pick us up.
After we dropped the girls off, Dominic and I came home, dropped of my bags and then the 3 of us went out for a nice family dinner, and a walk around downtown La Grange. I missed my little family, so it was nice to hang out with them and hear their side of the weekend!
The weekend was perfect. I am so thankful to have such good friends and family, and I am officially ready to get married! ;) 19 more days, I can’t believe it!
