I’m getting really good at these afternoon posts, aren’t I?
Sorry about that.
So this weekend.
This weekend was pretty laid back. I don’t understand WHY but the temperatures have gotten back up the the Mid 90s and I just cannot take it. I don’t like it. I want it to go away. What’s even worse than that is my hopes for a beautiful 75 degree Wedding Day are slowly being pushed away by the reality of a super sweaty 90 degree one. Not okay.
And while we’re talking wedding…..um….12 days? 11 and a half if you really want to get technical. What? I mean really, I just don’t even feel prepared (probably because I”m not) and so basically all day I’m freaking out. And it’s little things, too. Like wedding programs, and such. Little things that are actually big things that I’m just calling little things for the sake of a freak out that’s happening anyway.
Are you guys getting all of this?
Friday was our most relaxed (read: laziest) day. In fact, we stayed in our pjs all day, I knocked out a few more wedding favors (hint: I’m hand painting each favor…..that’s about 115!), we took Olivia out for a walk around the neighborhood once the sun went down and that’s kinda how that day went.
Saturday Dominic worked in the morning so we spent our day with my sister and my dad. We went and got him fitted for his tux, we did a Target run, ate some lunch and then once Dominic got home, we decided to have a little date night. We dropped Olivia off for a couple hours by his parent’s house and then we had a nice romantic evening shopping at Ikea for wedding candles and side tables and a quick trip to Target for a coffee k-cup holder and some milk….oh, what date night has become. At least we held hands, right?
Sunday night was the hottest. My girlfriend, Steph’s, boyfriend, Dominick, has a beautiful pool and they invited us to go swimming. I think it was already 90 by 11am and I almost rethought our Sunday plans but they did involve a beautiful big refreshing pool so how could I not want us to spend the afternoon there? Olivia was in heaven too. She even got an ice cream sandwich all to herself, and even though she barely ate the top of it, it was still cute to watch her indulge in a treat that was all her own. After spending a few hours there, we left and I didn’t even make it to the end of the street before she was out cold….she obviously had a terrible time ;) We went to visit Dominic at work, we like to surprise him from time to time and we got there in enough time to have some lunch and then he got to leave with us. We were all so wiped out that once we got home, we ate some dinner, took showers and once we put Olivia to sleep for the night, we watched the VMAs.
I still haven’t watched the part featuring Miley….but I’m hearing all about it. I won’t make any comments about her because I doubt they’ll be nice. Instead, I shall talk about my childhood dream becoming a reality: N’Sync reuniting. First off, let’s talk about Justin Timberlake. Oh JT, you can do no wrong in my eyes. Ever. And what a comeback you have made. How beautiful and perfect can a man get? I mean, really…. It’s like he hasn’t aged at all. And when N’Sync came to the stage….I just about died. Dominic was making fun of me because apparently my mouth was open the whole time while I watched in complete and utter AWE but I don’t care. Judge me if you want but 9 year old Katie was in heaven. They were the first concert I ever saw and I just never thought I’d see them together on stage again so you can’t blame me for being so mesmerized by a boy band. You just can’t. Dominic just doesn’t get it.
Anyway, after that performance my life was pretty much made, but I did watch the rest of the award show. Although MTV is going down the drain, Dominic and I still got some very good entertainment out of it.
And then we were asleep by 11:30pm.
It was obviously a super wild weekend.
How was your weekend? And I’d honestly love to know- what is the weather like where you are? I’m wishing everyone some super cool temps because Chicago is just killing me with this heat.
