Happy First Monday of Fall!
Chicago welcomed Fall with open arms by giving us an entire 69 degree weather weekend. It was amazing. We spent so much time outside, surrounded with friends and family, and when we were home, the windows were always open. It was exactly what I needed, to get me back into the swing of things. I think we’re all finally coming down from this wedding high, and things are finally starting to feel normal, and routine again.
Friday evening Olivia and I stayed home and had a little Girl’s Night. We played outside, took baths, and since she woke up at 5:30pm from her nap, she was up a little later than usual so we each had two cups of tea and watched a Mickey Mouse movie….snuggled up under a big blanket, of course :)
Saturday we went out to breakfast with my sister, and then went to an outside mall that is by the house. We met our dad up there and did a little shopping :) I bought Olivia the cutest gloves, I can’t wait to see her wear them! After we left our dad, my sister and I decided to spend the evening at the Berwyn Oktoberfest. At first I didn’t want to go, but in the end, I’m glad I went. We ran into a few old friends, ate fair food (a guilty, GUILTY, pleasure!) and danced around to one of the cover bands that was playing. Olivia loved all of the lights, the music and she was of course eating up all of the attention everyone was giving her. That girl is such a ham.
And Sunday we woke up early to go to breakfast with Stephanie, and then the three of us met up with our friend Carly to do a little more shopping, and spent the evening at our in-law’s new place. We talked, laughed, played outside….Dominic’s dad made such a nice dinner, and we ended the night with apple pie ala mode.
^Olivia is recently super obsessed with looking at herself in the mirror….I kind of love how beautiful and funny she thinks she is. In the store yesterday, I said to her, “Okay, Olivia, we’re gonna go bye bye!” She ran halfway toward me, and then ran back to the mirror and said, “Bye Olivia!!!” and ran back to me. Just about the cutest thing ever.^
It was a perfect Fall weekend and I’m looking forward to many more!
How did everyone spend their first official fall weekend?
