Because I have stayed home with Olivia since she’s been born, she has obviously always been a little more partial to me. I’m sure if the roles were reversed, and Dominic were the one at home all day, she’d never leave his hip.
At first, it kinda hurt his feelings. Which, I don’t blame him, because I know I’d feel hurt too. He would come home from a long day at work, and he’d want to hug and kiss her and she just wouldn’t want anything to do with him. If she hurt herself and would cry, she would only want “Mamaaaaaaaa!”
It was that way for a long time, but then my husband switched jobs, and now we see him way more. Throughout the day he calls us, and Olivia gladly talks to him on the phone and constantly asks for him throughout the day. And when Dominic comes home from work, she screams, “Dada!!!!!!” and runs to him. It makes me so happy because I know it makes him feel like a million bucks.
Last night, I was reading her a story, and she took the book right out of my hands and walked her little tush to the other side of the couch, where she happily handed him the book and sat right next to him (and later on top of him), so her Dada can read her the story.
And there I was, stunned, betrayed and maybe even a little jealous.
Just kidding ;)
Plus I got to snap a few shots of the love birds.
The love these two have for each other is amazing and beautiful. I love watching their bond grow closer and closer, and I consider myself lucky to be able to continue to watch their relationship get stronger.
We love you, Dada.
