I feel like this weekend really flew by.
Friday night, it was really chilly. Olivia and I decided to make some hot chocolate, snuggle on the couch, and watch a movie. We chose the Tigger movie and I loved watching her little face while she reacted to what she was watching. She sat through the whole thing and at one point, Tigger was really sad, and Olivia climbed over to sit on top of me, because she was sad, too. It’s an amazing thing to watch her emotions grow from crying because she’s hungry, tired, sad, gassy, bored, to actually being sad because someone else is sad. She’s turning into such a fun little person and I love it! I look forward to watching many more movies with her :)
Saturday my dad and sister took my out for my birthday lunch. My birthday is on Tuesday, October 2nd :) We went to Outback Steakhouse because I love their steak (I love steak period though!) and then we did a little shopping. Later in the evening, I got ready to go out with the girls to celebrate our friend Steph’s birthday!
And on Sunday, Olivia and I spent the morning at home. Saturday night, she started showing signs of catch a cold, so Sunday morning we slept in and lazed around until we had to get ready. My grandma hosted a birthday dinner for me at her house. She made one of my favorite meals: Thanksgiving dinner. Yes. She did. Turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries. You name it, she made it. It was SO good, I had two plates :x And then they sang happy birthday to me, and we let Olivia practice blowing out the candles because her birthday is in a month and a half and she showed no interest last year. This year, she’s already a pro.
I love when it’s my birthday. Even if I don’t get any gifts, just knowing that it’s MY day is good enough for me. My family has always made birthdays a big deal and I can’t wait to pass on the excitement to Olivia. I want her to always be excited for her birthday and then marry into a family who gets just as excited that it’s her birthday too :)
We ended out Sunday evening curled up on the couch with Olivia. She started to get a little worse, and you could tell in her eyes that she was sick. Runny nose, fever, and it seems like her body is sore. It was practically ineviateble that she got sick because this weather has been CRAZY. She was in a dress and sandals on Saturday and today we’re in our warmest pajamas. I love it, but I don’t love that she’s miserable :( I’m lucky enough to be able to stay home so I can nurse her back to health!
How was your weekend?
