This weekend started off SO hot….but it ended in the mid 40’s which is more my style ;)
Friday we had a little dinner and went for a walk with my dad, and after he left, we played with chalk, took baths, and continued our little weekly ritual of watching a movie together…this week we watched Lilo and Stitch. I forgot how cute that movie is! Olivia was definitely a fan and sat and watched the entire thing. She had taken a 3 hour nap earlier in the afternoon so she was NOT tired in the slightest. We stayed up pretty late, playing music on her xylophone. She was singing her little heart out, it was the cutest thing ever. And then her and I both passed out on the couch!
Saturday it was really hot. And rainy. And humid. And I wore pants…and straightened hair…..Not okay. We had a baby shower to go to in the evening and there were a lot of old friends there. Granted it was super humid and there were like 40 of us in a tiny hot garage, it was still a lot of fun to catch up with everyone and even more fun to watch our kids run around and play together. Olivia loves to play with other kids, but doesn’t get to often, so she was in heaven, and I was in heaven watching her!
And Sunday we woke up super early and drove an hour to meet Dominic’s parent’s to go apple picking. Not only was it Olivia’s first time, but it was also Dominic’s first time, too. I used to go with a girlfriend of mine when we were younger and I always really liked it. Of course I took a million and one pictures, I’ll put them up this Wednesday ;) It was a lot of fun! We stopped for some delicious coffee on the way home and then stopped back at Dominic’s Parent’s house to make home made caramel apples, and then we went home for the night. We took showers, straightened up, Dominic put Olivia to sleep and when he came back down stairs, we opened up a bottle of wine that I got for my birthday and caught up on some Netflix.
Perfect end to the weekend!
Every weekend for the next couple of months, we have something planned, and I am so excited about it! I absolutely love this time of year.
How was your weekend?
P.S. Tonight I’m starting Insanity. Wish me luck, I’m so nervous!
