Unfortunately, Olivia’s second Halloween wasn’t much of a success. We had huge plans to take her trick or treating, but the weather apparently had other plans for us (not to mention Olivia woke up with a runny nose and suuuuuper watery eyes!). It literally poured all day! I’m kind of glad that Olivia is still small, and still doesn’t understand the whole concept because I would’ve hated for her to be disappointed. Hell, I probably would’ve taken her trick or treating in the rain.
So instead, my sister came over to join the three of us, we ordered take out, carved pumpkins, cooked the seeds (my favorite part!), watched (a part of) a scary move, and ate pumpkin pie and candy that we bought for our non-existent trick or treaters. I mean if there is any alternative to treat or treating, that’s probably the way, right?
First, a few from last year:
I’m just glad she got to dress up at least once this year, last Saturday. That angel costume was awesome and was so easy to make. It was the same romper that she wore at our rehearsal, I bought it from an IG shop (I’m obsessed with IG shops!), a long one sleeve white onesie she already had, white tights, gold shoes from Old Navy, and then I bought baby wings from Joanne Fabrics for 2 bucks and a package of gold pip cleaners that I just hot glue gunned to the back of her old long sleeve white onesie. Easy Peasy.
I cannot believe that probably by next year, she’ll be talking more and maybe even want to pick out her own costume. Just thinking about her saying the words, “I want to be…….” is a little cray cray to me.
How did you spend your Halloween?
