Our Christmas 2013 was AWESOME. We did a lot of running around, which always seems so exhausting weeks before Christmas, when you’re planning out your many trips (5, for us), but then when those days actually come around, it somehow doesn’t seem so bad. I chalk it up to good ol’ Christmas Spirit, or maybe it’s just because we have a little two year old daughter who basically just rocked the socks off of our holiday festivities this year.
Seriously guys, if you don’t have a kid, get one. They are awesome.
She handled all five of our Christmases like a freakin champ, didn’t whine because she was overtired, didn’t over indulge in too many sweets, and danced around to Christmas music everywhere we went….I wish I could say the same for me.
Kidding. Kind of ;)
So I think I would be silly to NOT divide all 5 of our Christmases into 2 posts.
Here comes Galto Family Christmas Photo dump PART ONE (see PART TWO here!).
Our First Christmas was the Saturday before. We celebrated with My Sister and My Dad. I made a delicious Turkey (seriously, I was so impressed with myself), Dominic made pasta with homemade gravy, sausage and meatballs, and we had a bunch of sides, and cheesecake for dessert :)
^Dominic and I bought this cool business monopoly randomly and we’ve been playing it a lot. Super simple, super fun and most importantly super FAST! We played a few games before our guests showed up :) Oh and how cute are the pieces? I was the Coke bottle!^
^We used some of our DIY wrapping paper on my sister’s gift. It was one of the gifts we were the most excited to give out this year because we love her so much!^
Then we had Christmas Eve. We always celebrate Christmas Eve with my family. Dominic had to work the morning shift, and was running really late so my sister came and picked Olivia, so that she could eat, and I waited for Dominic. Unfortunately he ran so late that I ended up going to my family’s without him. I hated that he wasn’t there, we all did :( Olivia and I made the most of it though and had a great time with my family.
Then we stopped by Dominic’s grandma’s house later later in the evening. That’s where we finally got to see our main man. He was so exhausted (we all were), so we didn’t stay too long!
Christmas Day. We decided that since Olivia is still little (and got/will get A LOT of gifts), we were only gonna get her one big gift. We chose a Teepee (we bought this one!). We were SO excited for this gift because we knew she was going to be obsessed. Hell, we were obsessed when we opened it. But, as you will see, the thing is HUGE. Her reaction was absolutely priceless and I am so happy we recorded it. Please excuse our messy house and my really high pitched voice:
And then we went to Christmas Breakfast by my Grandparent’s house. One of my favorite traditions.
And there’s the first part of our Christmas! Lots of pictures, lots of family time, as it should be!
