You guys. On Monday we were teased with almost SIXTY degree weather. Sixty! I say teased because as I type this, I’m looking at the 6 inches of snow that we got last night. Olivia and I are absolutely pro-snow, but this is just getting a little ridiculous. How can it possibly be 60 on Monday and then drop back down to the low 20s the rest of the week?! Not cool, Mother Nature.
Anyway, back to Monday. Of course Olivia and I took full advantage of the weather. I layered her up a bit, and we went outside to blow bubbles while we waited for my dad and sister to stop by with lunch.
After we ate tacos, Olivia was begging us to go back outside, and I couldn’t even blame her– this weather has been brutal, so of course we haven’t spent any time outside. She was trying to soak up the beautiful day just as much as the rest of us!
And so back outside we went. I asked her if she wanted to go for a walk and she eagerly replied, “YES PLEASE, MAMA!” I swear it was as if this girl had never ever ever been outside. She was all, “Trees! Birds! Grass! Sun! Mama, yook! YOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” She literally ran around the block because she was just so happy to be outside, without a heavy coat on, running free while the wind blew through her hair.
It was so nice to see her so happy to be outside and I really hope that this cold weather ends soon because my child doesn’t understand how one day we’re outside blowing bubbles, and the next day we’re cuddled under blankets trying to stay warm. It’s also really sad because she keeps saying, “Bubbles, Mama? Please?”
I may or may not blow bubbles all day around the house because I don’t want her to be sad.
What is the weather like by you? It’s supposed to be 50 again on Friday!
8 more days until Spring! At least we hope so!
P.S Happy Birthday, Grams! We love you :)
