We just can’t catch a break with this weather. This has been the longest winter in the history of ever and I am just so sick of it!
Mother Nature played a nice joke on us this weekend. We had a beauuuuuuuuutiful Friday evening (high 60s!), an entire beautiful Saturday (I think it got up to 80!!!!) and the jokiest joke day of them all- Sunday.
Olivia and I woke up Sunday morning at 8:30 and it was already almost 70. We let Dominic sleep in until 10am, and then woke him up to go for a bike ride.
It. Was. Beautiful. It was about 77 degrees outside, with a little wind. Perfect weather. We rode our bikes for an hour and came home sweaty because it was so hot! That was at about 11:30. I quickly went inside, switched Olivia into a dress and we were outside blowing bubbles, enjoying the weather.
AT 11:45(!), as Dominic’s mom and I were sitting there watching Olivia play with her bubbles in her little summer dress, the wind started to blow and literally within SECONDS the temperature dropped fifteen degrees. FIFTEEN!!! It was so crazy. All of a sudden it got way colder. I couldn’t believe that not even a half hour later, I was putting pants on Olivia. I mean, she was just in a summer dress! The rest of the day was cold and rainy and just blah.
I really don’t know when we’re gonna get to taste the beautiful weather again. I’m not even being dramatic because there is SNOW in the forecast for today.
Chicago, I quit you.
We really did make the most of the weekend though. Olivia discovered her saltwaters and insisted on wearing them all weekend….despite the fact that they are just a little too big on her still.
We went to the outlet mall Saturday afternoon. It was a little packed, but we wanted to make sure we spent as much time outside as possible….we even ate outside before we got to the mall! We know better than to not take advantage of this weather. Anyway, there was this man who was selling bubble guns for ten dollars. It seems like a lot (to me anyway!), but it was a great purchase. It made Olivia so happy!
That bubble man is a genius though. Selling bubbles at a place where there are tons of kids, and tons of parents who just wanna shop in peace on the most beautiful day of the year so far?! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that! He probably made five to ten grand, I’m not kidding! Every kid I saw had a bubble gun. There were bubbles everywhere and it was awesome.
It’s been hard to get that thing out her hands since we bought it!
I’m writing this at 10am, and so far no snow. But it is rainy, cold, and only 39 degrees.
How is it by you?!
Spring!! Come back!!
