We got up early this morning and colored Easter Eggs! We’ve been talking it up all week to get Olivia pumped for it and she had a blast. When I was little, coloring eggs was one of my favorite parts of Easter (aside from all of the candy, obviously) so it was really cool to see my daughter get just as excited as I remember getting.
The brand of egg dying supplies that we bought was kind of cheap! I was disappointed because that was always the brand that we used when I was younger but in my opinion, the colors could’ve been brighter. The pink was basically still white! Next year, I think I’ll try to make our dye naturally from vegetables. It was all over Pinterest and I didn’t really see the point when you could just buy a whole kit, but after this, I’m interested to see if it really works!
Every time she picked one up with that little wire scooper and put her finished product onto the egg tray, she was so proud of herself. And then after she realized that she could peel and eat the egg, she did so. I was honestly so shocked because I can’t even get her to eat scrambled eggs but….to each their own. She’s eating an egg, so I’m not gonna complain.
Although after she got to the center and saw it start to crumble everywhere, she freaked out saying, “I broke the egg! I broke the egg!” and then she was done. She’s just a little bit dramatic ;)
I think I should just rename this blog “Being a Parent is Awesome” because of how often I say it, but I’m not kidding!! It really is the best thing ever! These holidays just keep getting better and better as she gets older. Tomorrow morning we have an Easter Egg Hunt planned for her and then the Easter Bunny comes on Sunday!
Have a good Easter weekend!
