Here are the rest of our Holiday photos…..I know there are a lot but I also know that my family would kill me if I left any out so for the sake of my own life, a second photo dump starts right now…..
I was told a lot of things when we first learned that we were going to be parents. I was given a lot of advice, a lot of stories, a lot of “be careful” but how come nobody ever told me about being Santa Claus and how great it is?! What a great job to hold as a parent. This was the first year that Olivia understood Santa Claus and it was so wonderful. She came down on Christmas morning with the most surprised/excited face and said right away, “Is this all for me, Mama?!”
If you go through this blog, you’ll find that there is one thing that I say a lot. But you know what? I’m gonna say it again.
HAVING A KID IS THE BEST THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
This was such a special Christmas and I’m already excited for the next one. The Holidays are so hectic, but so worth it. It was another great Christmas full of seriously awesome surprises (my in-laws got me TAYLOR SWIFT ticktets! And my husband bought me a record player! Amongst other amazing gifts, of course.) We ended up telling Olivia that the Kitchen was from us and that Santa Claus got her the baby doll and the racing cars, because that’s what she asked for. I am happy to report that two weeks later and she still plays with all of that stuff excitedly and equally. She loves her baby doll. I love her Kitchen.
We spent Christmas night playing games, watching movies, and eating snacks and then slept under the tree. I really think Olivia enjoyed herself with that one and it is such a special memory for me. I can’t wait to continue our new tradition from now on.
The next morning, though, the tree was down. I couldn’t take it anymore. My husband and kid were sick, I was bored and seriously missing my normal looking house. I am all for decorating for Christmas, but once Christmas is over, I just want my house back. I never used to be like that, but since we’ve gotten our own place with so much stuff and so many toys, it just all starts to become a little overwhelming and I find myself craving that normality all the way until the beginning of November. Then I want all that Christmas stuff right back up ;)
I hope everyone had a nice, long, and enjoyable holiday month!
