Last Saturday, we were just lounging around, waiting for this huge storm that was supposed to come. Around here, you never know what you’re going to get; are the meteorologists right on point, ooooooooor are they about to be so, so wrong? Thankfully, they weren’t wrong at all and right around 3pm, the snow storm started.
Olivia and I woke up that morning both feeling a little under the weather, but as we watched the snow fall down super hard, I couldn’t help myself. The words, “Lets bundle up and go play in the snow!” just came right out.
And that’s just what we did. PJs and all.
I think we underestimated how much snow was actually coming down but it was so much fun. We were the only crazies out, but we didn’t care. It was such a magical, winter wonderland. The fresh snow on the ground, the snow capped trees, it was just so beautiful and perfect.
We were probably outside for a total of about 20 minutes, but that was more than enough for us. We had a snowball fight, we caught snowflakes on our tongue and we found a little path that was fit especially for Olivia, that we explored.
Two weeks in and I’m pretty sure we have the adventure part of our New Year’s Goals pretty much down pat ;) Being able to teach Olivia how magical and fun nature is, is such a treat for us. We love introducing her to new things and encouraging her to have an adventurous and spontaneous soul is so important to us and when she gets older, these are the memories I so hope that she looks back on.
