This past weekend was Father’s Day and I am happy to report that we honestly celebrated every single amazing father on both sides of our families.
We basically went with the same set-up as Mother’s Day– my Grandparent’s house on Saturday evening, Dominic’s parent’s house on Sunday morning, and then just the three of us on Sunday evening.
We seriously had awesome weather the whole weekend. It was supposed to rain and it never did! We had a cookout at my Grandparent’s house and were able to celebrate my grandfather, my father, my husband, and my godfather. Unfortunately I forgot my memory card for my camera on Saturday so I didn’t take any pictures. Except for one, actually. Of my daughter……naturally. She had her first ice cream truck popsicle of the season, and I obviously had to document it.
I honestly wish I would’ve been able to take more pictures because we had such a good time. We spent the majority of our time there outside, laughing our butts off. My family is so loud and crazy, and I am just so, so thankful for them.
Sunday morning Olivia and I woke up early and Olivia jumped on Dominic screaming, “Wake up, Dada! Wake up!!!!” And when he finally did, she handed him the box with his gift inside– a tie. She was so proud of that thing, and it was the easiest craft ever. I bought a white silk tie and some permanent markers last week and let her go to town. She kept telling both me and my dad, “this is for Dada.” It came out so cute and when he opened it he was so surprised! He loved it so much.
Then we made our way downstairs to wish my dad a happy Father’s Day. I was gonna cook breakfast for both my dad (he’s still with us!) and Dominic but they really wanted breakfast from this one place about five minutes from us so I just ordered it over the phone and picked it up.
My sister came over and we gave our dad his gifts. (That man is truly spoiled.) And while he was sitting there with my sister, we all got ready to head over to my in-laws’s.
